13) How do I tell them? Stockings rule

Recently I started my periods, but I told my mates I haven't started and they keep asking me because they have! What shall I say? For some reason I'm too embarrassed to tell them. I haven't even told my mum yet. How can I ask my mum for some things and what shall I tell my mates? My Mum has never sat me down and told me about these things either; I'm quite embarrassed to mention it. Reply

Why be embarrassed to tell your mum?! St least she can help you with it. She's going to find out sooner or later.

I dunno about my friends though... they've never really asked me that question before... only the lads but they are idiots! Reply

Tell your friends about it when its over, because they might fuss over you if you tell them now. You should just go up to your mother and tell her now because she might be able to give you advice. Well good luck anyway. Reply

re: I HATE MY PERIOD Cookie

You need to tell your Mum, but whether or not you tell your friends is a completely personal decision. I'm sure that she'll be expecting you to start soon, so don't be embarrassed, just tell her. If you simply can't bear to tell her to her face, why not write her a little note and put it on her pillow, or somewhere where she'll see it? I think your Mum would feel really upset if she thought that you couldn't tell her that you've started - how would you feel if you felt that you daughter could talk to you about personal stuff? Just grin and bear it, and congratulations by the way! Reply
