"I'm lactose-intollerant"

"I can't eat any dairy products, including cream, cheese and milk.
But it isn't like I have a choice about it: I'm lactose intolerant, so having any dairy products could make me very ill.
I have to check the ingredients on everything I eat. I can't eat out or have take away, as I cannot be totally sure of the ingredients. It's a hard, but I am used to it, as I found out about my allergy years ago and I have now had time to adjust."
