re:  What is... Cool Chick

Puberty is the time in your life where you start growing up. Your body starts changing, these are the changes that happen 2 a girl:

You start growing breasts, eventually when you have a baby they feed off the milk in your breasts. You have a growth spurt. You have mood swings (when you feel sad one minute and happy the next). Your hips grow wider so you have room to support a baby inside you. You get hair under your arms and in your private area. You get discharge, when a white/yellow fluid. Use pantyliners to protect yourself and make you feel fresher. You start your period. This is when an egg is released monthly from your ovary. If it is fertilised it will turn into a baby. If it isn't fertilised it will pass out in the form of blood. You sweat more and your hair and skin grow more oily. The things don't happen in that order but all of those things do happen. You will have lessons at school about this in year 6 and 7. Boys go through puberty too but they have different thing happen although some are the same. Reply

Puberty is basically the stage of life that turns boys into men, and girls into women.

Physically :

Well, in both girls and boys they get a lot taller, and their face alters, they get underarm and pubic hair. The skin and hair get more oily, and you sweat more, meaning that you need to wash everyday to keep feeling clean and fresh.

Boys start to get facial hair, and their voices get deeper (break). Their shoulders and chests get broader and their penis and testicles get bigger too, and start to produce sperm.

Girls' breasts develop and hips widen, and the pelvic bones widen so that there is more room for a baby. The ovaries enlarge and develop, and ova are developed in the ovaries, and they start their periods.

Mentally:

You'll want more independence, and you feel more aware of yourself and other people around you. You may have mood swings, and start to think more about the future, and what you want to do with your life. Your reasoning will also become more complex as your brain develops, and you'll be able to take on a far more adult way of reasoning and discussing and seeing the causes and consequences of things.

Hope this helps, Cookie -x-  Reply
