3) Bullied Kirsty

I’m Kirsty. I’m been bullied by this girl. The teachers at my school don’t believe me because in their eyes she’s an angel. What should I do? Reply

Tell your parents - they'll make the school believe you. If the school don’t act then you have to make them listen - the school has an obligation to protect you while you are there - to keep you safe and stop the bullying. If the school still won't listen then the case can be taken to the LED who will make sure that you are listened to.

Every school has an anti-bullying policy - find out what your is. If you have a homework planner it's probably written in the front somewhere, otherwise, try the letters you get at the start of school, or the prospectus. Find out what it is so that you know whether the teachers have dealt with your complaint as they are obliged to.

Keep a diary of every time you are bullied and exactly what happened, and show this to a teacher.

Try talking to the girl. It may sound daft, but she may think that she is being harmless, and that it's just a bit of fun. Explain to her how much it is hurting you.

Remember - The school has an obligation to protect you against bullies. Make your voice heard, they have to listen, it's the law. Reply
