Problems Solved
17) Lost Cat Liz
About a week ago my cat went missing, and she's still not come back yet. It keeps me awake at night thinking about her, and during the day I can't stop thinking where she might be, and I can't concentrate on my school work. What can I do? Reply
re: Lost Cat Cookie
I'm
sorry to hear about your cat. Cat's like to wander. Sometimes they will go off
for days at a time, but still come home, and sometimes they're wandering does
get them into trouble. Talk to your parents about how worried you are. They
might be able to phone around the local cattery, blue cross and vet in case it
was brought in lost or injured. At least if you find this out it may put your
mind at rest. In the mean time, talk to a friend about it. Try asking you
neighbours if they've seen your cat, and ask them to tell you if they hear
anything. Some people even give description to the local police! Put people you
know in the local area on lookout, in case they see your cat. At least that way
you know that you've done all you can.
Is
your cat microchipped, or does it have a collar with a tag on it? If so,
hopefully someone will be able to find it and bring it to you.
Also,
try not to worry. Cats can get lost and lose track of time, but they do
sometimes find their way home, or get looked after by somebody until they manage
to find the owner. Pets, especially cats and dogs, caused owners a lot of worry
and upset, but if you get stuck into your work and carry on as usual then you'll
probably feel a lot better.
