Hayley - "I don't think it will be New York they hosted it a few years ago. Paris might get it. What do you think?"

Charlotte - "I think Paris will get it, because a) They weren't involved in the war, and b) they did an amazing job of the 2003 World Athletics championships. I don't think New York will get it because of the war, and because the US have had it 3 times in recent years. I'm not convinced that London have what it takes, and the war won't have helped them either."

Charlotte - "Yes, but technically there big already, and giving it to somewhere smaller and making that a target won't solve the problem, will it? I mean, Athens went OK, and this may not be such an issue in 4 years time - look how much things changed between Sydney and Athens. I doubt the war will still be going on in 2012. I mean, to be honest, I think they'll probably force the US troops out by then, and I'd hope they'll leave after the Iraqi elections. They should really, or it'll be Vietnam all over again."

NippyNoodles - "London, for sure. I may be biased, but I think that it would do a great deal to bring everybody in the country together. I genuinely think that London wants it the most, and also that we could get our act together for 2012. Just look at the success of the Rugby World Cup parade, sport brings the UK together."

Carolyn - " I dunno really... of course it would be good if London got it but I am doubtful! Paris have a good chance!! I really dunno... i wish it was in Belgium!"

Sapphi - "I hope that London will be able to host the 2012 Olympics!!"

India - "I'm on the floor praying [that London get the bid] now!"

Kylie - "Nah... looks like Paris will get it"

Charlotte - "I agree. They're sorted. In the paper about a fortnight ago it said we'd more or less given up hope. Paris have the support, the facilities, the sponsors, and they've proved they can host major events. OK, Manchester 2002 was good, but the World Athletics championships in 2003 was really good. London lost it when they pulled out of hosting the World Athletics Championships this year - Helsinki had to take over. It was irresponsible of them."

Denise - "Please!!!! I really don't want Paris to get it."

sportmadman - "Paris will probably get it but they had a strike when the IOC was there so that could hold them back. Cathy Freemen wants London to get it"

phatman - "I think London will cause a shock and get it. everyone thinks Paris is a cert but the inspectors were massively impressed by the London bid and the amount of urban regeneration it bring."

angel4659 - "If Paris gets it, all of the workers will strike!, They do that a lot over there. I hope it comes here as we are better than them at everything."

Charlotte - "I don't know where you got any of that from. France are far and a way superior to us in sport. Half the sports they win Olympic medals in we don't even have teams for - fencing, handball, volleyball, beach volleyball... if it's on ability and potential then there's no way that Paris can not win."

not - "I just hope New York doesn't get it, the American's have already proved in 96 and 2002 that they can't host Olympics, and they've had the games recently."

Ali - "defiantly London should get it, but its really tough, I think all 5 cities can put on a great Olympics but it would be amazing if it is London."

Nasir - "London's gonna win it. I can feel it. Lord Sebastian Coe is awesome and i think what they did with the queen will give us a major advantage."

Harriet - "Exactly... I mean look at the mess Paris made of the World Championships 2 years ago!"

Charlotte - "What mess? It ran smoothly considering the International Tension at the time."

not - "There is more Olympic passion in the UK though, look at the crowds at Athens, way more Brits than French"

Charlotte - "Depends what sport you were watching though, doesn't it?! The French will have been supporting their best chances, in the fencing and the handball, the football.... not just in the athletics and sports that the Brits were competing in. and did you hear the roars for Christine Arron in the women's sprinting - trust me, they were there.

"I've just come back from Paris, and the passion is definitely there. They have Paris 2012 on the Eiffel tower for goodness sake, banners on every lamppost."

not- "The Brits outnumbered the French easily in athletics, rowing, equestrianism and boxing which are all supposed to be as popular in France as in the UK. Also, out side the Paris region there is absolutely no support at all for the games, in the alps there are as many people supporting Madrid and London as Paris."

Charlotte - "They had representatives in almost all sports - that's better than we did. We did even have people in about half of the events for goodness sake! There were almost certainly more French fans in Athens than UK ones."

Charlotte - "When the young athletes of our age now will be competing, so it should matter a lot to us. The big names in youth sport now, like Kate Haywood, Emily Pidgeon, Non Stanford, Joey Duck... they'll be the people we'll be supporting in 2012; it's the teenagers now that'll be the national Olympic squads then."

Ribena - "Well, its mainly Paris and London in the lead.... New York, Moscow and Madrid are further behind than Paris and London."

OnTheBallCity - "I would love London to get it but basically anything other than Paris, seeing as they're so confident about it."

Hattie - "I don't think London should get it it is far to small to host such a bid event!"
