What did you think of the storyline?

Katie - "I think the storyline was very complicated but this made it even better because if it had been simple then it couldn't have had a good ending where Harry finds out a lot, but not all of what is going to happen. I was a bit shocked about Snape's worst memory - I wasn't expecting that at all, but that is what Rowling is good at - building up the tension and then surprising you. they are not always nice surprises either. I didn't think the way Sirius black died was very good, it didn't seem final, not very dramatic, but then there is probably a reason behind it, and I will just have to wait another year or so to find out!"

What did you think of the new characters - Professor Umbridge and Luna Lovegood?

Katie - "When Umbridge was mentioned in the trial I didn't think about her much, but I immediately disliked her when she started talking in the hall - mainly because she interrupted Dumbledore and I like him. I could sense that the other teachers didn't like her, and I guessed before Hermione that she was working and sent by fudge. I really hated her as we went on, and I loved it every time Harry shouted at her! (though I laughed so much when McGonagall said have a biscuit!!) I thought the detentions were disgusting and I actually felt sick thinking about them. I was so pleased when she was kicked out, and I loved the bit with Fred and George, that was so cool!

"I liked Luna Lovegood quite early on as well, maybe because I felt sorry for her. I thought it was probably a parent or sibling that died when I found out she could see threstrals (and knew what they were). I connected her with Lupin, the way she is called loony or loopy and in the Prisoner of Azkaban peeves says "loony loopy Lupin". It is probably just a coincidence. "

Christie - "This may seem lame but I cried just a little bit when Umbridge gave Harry that detention with the quill because it's SO MEAN and he was telling the truth! I HATE that woman even if its only a story book character."

Did it live up to the other books?

Katie - "I think it definitely answered of lot of questions. and it tells us a lot about James and lily and Snape which I am sure will be even more opened up in the next book. it was good because there were so many more characters, and every dark arts teacher was mentioned again! (and all were seen except Quirrell!) it was much more deep then the other books which I liked, the way it went right into peoples hearts. you could tell how people were feeling even by the slightest thing. when Lupin was talking to Harry after Sirius had died "it sounded like every word was causing him pain" things like that."

Accib - "I thought the fifth book was a complete let down. I really wanted my moneys worth for £17.00 but Harry acted like a psychopath. I think J. K. Rowling's fame has made her loose her touch."

Callie - "He was meant to be like that - he was being controlled by Voldemort's emotions - of course he was acting strange! If you didn't want to spend the money then you could have gone to the library. Sorry, but that's the story, like it or lump it."
